Xiaomi has been long rumored to take on Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge, with a dual-edged display smartphone of its own.

Rumors had it that this phone was codenamed as the Michigan Arch, however it now seems like that Xiaomi is taking even name cues from Samsung’s “Edge” display smartphones.

Reports out of China claim that the Michigan Edge will feature a 5.2-inch display that curves all the way to the back. The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 64-bit hexa-core processor and will be paired with either 3GB or 4GB RAM. Other features are said to include a 16MP rear camera and a fingerprint scanner. Alongside the rumoured curved-display smartphone, Xiaomi is also rumoured to launch an exclusively-branded tablet and a smartwatch, during October. The smartphone is expected to be priced at 2500 Yuan (around Rs 26,000). The corresponding image shows a mockup of the smartphone, revealing heavily curved edges on either side. Apart from this new OS, it also announced the limited edition of its Mi4i in special colours like pink, yellow, sky and black. While the company might be a no-show at the IFA 2015 event this week, expect the Chinese manufacturer to schedule an event over the coming days for the release of the two handsets, hopefully along with the Michigan Edge.
