Android/iOS: A couple of months ago, Spotify launched Spotify Running, a section inside the Spotify app that creates running playlists based on your tempo.

That feature has so far been limited to iOS users, but now the company is bringing the experience to Android as well.

Obviously, the feature isn’t ideal, so you might notice that Sportify Running does not always syncs the music to your tempo, but it’s pretty close nevertheless. Once you select the type of music you’re in the mood for, just start running and Spotify will detect your tempo – 170 steps per minute, for instance – and deliver a non-stop playlist, customized to your pace.

Spotify has access to over 20 million tracks as part of their service and they use your listening history as well as multiple genre playlists to match something up to your speed. It will try to provide music that matches your adrenaline level and music preferences at the same time.

Spotify Running was initially only released to iPhone users across the globe.

Spotify says the feature is rolling out to Android users starting today, so it may take a moment to fully hit everyone’s devices. Head on over to the Google Play Store and check for the latest updates if you’re interested in trying it out.
