But it seems the iPhone has another talent up its sleeves, something Apple has never advertised – it can stop bullets.

A California man is thankful he had his iPhone on him after he says the smartphone stopped a speeding bullet from hitting his body. When the student resisted, the man pulled out a gun, shot him in the leg and made off with the computer bag. While the student wouldn’t reveal his identity or talk to the press, his roommate Faris Alotaibi told the local media that his friend was left shaken by the incident. With a black semi-automatic handgun in hand, the robber then fired one shot at the student. “He showed me the phone, the bullet was very clear, destroyed it and broke it into pieces”, Alotaibi said.

The student was unharmed, though the robber ran off with his laptop bag and the silver HP laptop inside it.

“The jeans were torn open”, he said.

Last October, a 25-year-old man had survived a gunshot when his iPhone suffered most of the damage.

The man, who was out walking with his dog, managed to get up and make his way home, despite sustaining serious injuries to his abdomen. “Had the phone not been in his pocket at that time he would undoubtedly have died”, he added.
