Air Force coach Troy Calhoun said the Falcons lost 28 seniors from the 2014 10-victory team.

After swamping Football Championship Subdivision power New Hampshire 43-13 in the opener, San Jose State should provide the coaching staff and fans with some insight as to how the season might unfold, starting against Air Force. Prior to Romine’s 1-yard touchdown run, Crawford had a chance to give San Jose State its first lead of the game, but his 36-yard field goal attempt hit the right upright and bounced to the ground.

San Jose State would appear to be rallying with a nice drive before the third major event of the fourth quarter occurred, an interception by Weston Steelhammer off of backup quarterback Joe Gray to basically end the game for the Falcons.

Air Force busted open a tight 17-16 game – SJSU leading – with an interception leading to 20 unanswered points. The Falcons (1-0), who run the triple-option, gained a total of 513 yards against Morgan State, including 394 on the ground. Fullback D.J. Johnson punched in the touchdown and also added a 34-yard scoring run a possession later for his third score of the day. He was helped off the sector and changed by Karson Roberts earlier than Johnson hurdled into the top zone with 7:00 remaining. “That’s a challenge for our guys and we didn’t answer the call”.

Quarterback Nate Romine rushed for a team-high 116 yards and a touchdown before departing with a fourth-quarter leg injury as host Air Force posted a 37-16 win over visiting San Jose State at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs. Williams was flagged for “concentrating on” and ejected. The replay booth saw it. It took out our leader. We’ll see what happens when the offense takes the field.

The Spartans pulled to inside some extent when Ervin broke via visitors on the line of scrimmage en path to a 66-yard landing on San Jose State’s opening possession of the second half.

Air Pressure took an early lead when Garrett Brown took a pitch from Romine, turned the nook untouched and sped down the sideline for a 63-yard landing.

Romine also led a touchdown march that he finished off with a 1-yard run just before halftime. Each quarterback’s interception in the decisive fourth quarter stopped a Spartan drive and preceded a Johnson touchdown run for Air Force.
