According a spokesperson for DeKalb County police, several detectives received information on Friday afternoon about “gun runners”.

A police officer has been shot and wounded at a gas station in suburban Atlanta, authorities said.

Two officers were chasing the robbery suspects when the suspects crashed into a gas station in Tucker, a city of 27,500 people about 20 miles northeast of Atlanta, DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander said. He says Crow and McCray jumped out of the vehicle and ran across the parking lot, and the officer chased them before gunshots were exchanged. The clip, which is unedited, includes graphic language.

“These officers did an extraordinary job today”, Alexander said.

The officer was later identified as 47-year-old Marco Vizcarrando.

Alexander said the officer was in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. He has since been released.

Another person was treated at the scene for anxiety.

One suspect was taken into custody at the scene and could be seen being put into a police vehicle by Chopper46.

Detectives were conducting an investigation into an alleged gun-running operation, he said. McCray fled into a wooded area around the gas station before being captured with the help of a K-9 unit.
