Earlier this year, LG unveiled the LG Watch Urbane at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and apart from the design, the Luxe version is little changed.

LG’s Luxe watch will be available initially in the U.S. for pre-order via REEDS Jewelers beginning on Monday. The company claims that the creation process for the strap includes 50 individual steps, and everything is completed by hand by a team of 30 leatherworkers.

While the Watch Urbane Luxe appears to be similar to the Watch Urbane in terms of specs, its gold case and alligator leather band could make it more appealing to folks that want a more jewelry-like smartwatch. The LG Watch Urbane Luxe will be available to buy at the end of October and is expected to cost somewhere in the region of $1,200. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz chipset paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

Yie added that the blending of technology and craftsmanship found in the LG Watch Urbane Luxe is the natural evolution of the wearable device, which is gradually turning into a lifestyle accessory as opposed to simply being a piece of hardware.

LG has only produced 500 of these limited edition smartwatches, with each having its own serial number engraved for authenticity. Visitors to IFA 2015 can see this handsome work of art for themselves along with other mobile devices from LG in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin from September 4-9.
