Jaguar F-Pace: A Macan Killer?

The online configuration for the U.S.-spec Jaguar F-Pace range has just been released. Buyers can also moon over a First Edition F-Pace, but the only available option on that special-edition model is the $400 wearable key device spreading through Jag’s lineup.

There are a variety of features offered with the F-Type and you can play around until you find a {flawless | perfect}build that fits your needs. The top-of-the-line F-Pace S uses the same supercharged petrol motor but produces 380 PS. While the top speed continues to be electronically limited at 250 kmph, the range-topping variant is faster than the 35t by 0.3 seconds in 0-100 kmph acceleration.

In case you were wondering how it compares with the Porsche Macan, at $52,600 the base version of the German sporty SUV is cheaper than the F-PACE S, but only comes with the same power as a 35t Jaguar (340 hp).

So, what do you get for those $40,990?

Set to go on sale early next year, the entry-level F-PACE 20d features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that develops 180 bhp. This version can go from 0 to 60 {miles per hour | miles during an hour}in 8.2 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 129 {miles per hour | miles during an hour}. However, with the way things are going lately, we think people will be a little more reluctant to spend their cash on diesels, at least for a while.

Look for the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace SUV to start arriving in dealerships next spring, and play around with this new model’s configurator tool here in the meantime.
