The outspoken Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim featherweight titleholder fights adversary Jose Aldo in a unification match in the UFC 194 pay-per-view (PPV) main event on December, 12, 2015.

His most recent fight was against Chad Mendes in July in The Octagon in Las Vegas.

Speaking to the NRL Footy Show in Australia the other day, UFC president Dana White promised that McGregor’s first title defense would headline Croke Park if he unifies the titles in December. “We told him he could defend his title at Croke Park.”

UFC president Dana White will fulfil McGregor’s dream of fighting at Croke Park in Ireland if he’s victorious against Aldo at UFC 194.

The UFC veteran has had an ongoing war of words with Conor McGregor, going back months at this stage, and has been agitating for a crack at the Dubliner for over a year.

The proposed Croker clash would take place next summer.

There’s also a major issue legally as there’s a curfew that prevents permits being issued for late night events there due to noise pollution, while Croke Park doesn’t have a closed roof, so the very likely possibility of bad weather presents another headache for the UFC. “I’m not a meteorologist, but I’ll bet you it’s going to rain”.

With McGregor now as popular as Jesus in Ireland, each fight for The Notorious leads to a mass exodus of Irish fans as they travel in their thousands to shout on their idol.
