If you’re in the market for a cheap Android handset, you might be interested to learn that T-Mobile has recently announced the Coolpad Rogue.

The device has just been made official, and it shall be available both on-line and in-store at T-mobile for just 49.99$ on Wednesday 30th September 2015.

T-Mobile has brought some interesting devices into its fold over the past few years, and the Coolpad Rogue certainly fits that bill. Customers will be able to pick this one up for just $50 outright. Under the hood, the smartphone features a 1.1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset (unknown model, but probably a Snapdragon 200 series chip) with an Adreno 304GPU and 1GB of RAM.

As you can imagine, Coolpad had to cut a lot of corners to launch a $50 smartphone, but it looks like the specs are quite decent given the ultra low price.

Talking about specs, the best thing about Coolpad Rogue is the fact that it ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.

Coolpad Rogue sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) resolution. 4GB of internal storage is all you’ll get, though the Micro SD card slot allows for an additional 32GB of storage. The cameras on the smartphone are lower than basic, with 2 megapixels on the back that at least comes with a flash and autofocus and a VGA 0.3 MP shooter on the front.

At least the device runs on the latest Android 5.1, which speaks of the OS’ flexibility in terms of hardware requirements. For Coolpad, that’s changing as of now with their recent announcement today that they’ll be launching the first device in their lineup to make it to T-Mobile’s network, as part of the partnership between Coolpad and the U.S.’ now third largest wireless carrier.
