As convertible machines grow in popularity, the price shrinks and the technology rapidly becomes more accessible.

Almost two years after introducing the original Transformer Book T100, Asus is launching an updated model of this low-priced , 2-in-1 tablet that can function as a notebook.

With thin and light form factors, fast SSD storage, IPS displays with wide viewing angles and “incredible system responsiveness”, the two new Transformer Book models aim to offer power and flexibility on a budget. This is a 10.1-inch IPS panel based product with 1280×800-pixel resolution. If you forget to charge the battery, Asus says the Transformer Book T100HA can charge from empty to 80% in just two hours through the micro-USB port. That 80% charge should keep the system going for about 9.5 hours.

Other specs of the T100HA model include 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of eMMC expandable storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.

This tablet comes with Windows 10 64bit edition, one USB 3.0 type-C, one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 type A, Combo audio jack and micro HDMI. The battery life isn’t as generous in the Flip, though, with Asus stating you’ll be able to go off the charger for up to eight hours. It weighs 1.2KG, measures 297 x 201.3 x 18.45 mm (WxDxH) and we saw the listing with €350 price tag, and shipping date for the next few days. Despite the fancy colors on the linked product pages, Asus is keeping the USA releases subdued. the T100HA will come in any color you want so long as it’s gray, and will set you back $299. As its name implies, the TP200SA looks like a regular ‘ol notebook, but can “flip” its 11.6-inch (1366×768) display 360 degrees to turn into a tablet. There’s also a full-sized USB 2.0 port on the keyboard dock. Nevertheless, it can serve as a cheap travel notebook weighing only 2.65 pounds.

First unveiled in August, Asus Transformer Book T100HA should be available soon for $299 and up. With the latter, Continuum will automatically disable the keyboard keys when the keyboard is flipped to avoid accidental button presses.
