Things haven’t been smooth for OnePlus when it comes to product launches. Although we don’t think competition will impact us much, it’s still undeniable that we’ve given a month to competing products to catch up. The OnePlus 2 launch on July 28, and shipments were supposed to start rolling out a month ago. We told our users it would be 30-50x easier to get invites, and they needn’t worry.

The OnePlus 2 is a 5.5 inch phone with a 1080p display and features a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 3,300 mAh battery. Yet, we only began shipping in meaningful quantities this week, almost a month after our initial targeted shipping date.

“You can talk all you want, but in the end, flawless execution speaks much louder than unfulfilled promises”, he wrote.

Finally, the post apologises to the OnePlus team itself.

OnePlus has apologised for the delayed roll out of the OnePlus 2 and states that it now has plans to have open sales for the device in either late September or early October.

There has been considerable delay in deliveries of the new device in the recent past which hasn’t gone down well with OnePlus fans. Pei however has not revealed any specific date for the open sale citing “production and operations” reasons.

After the debacle that surrounded the OnePlus One, wait, OnePlus Two, Carl Pei, the co-founder, has decided to “apologize” for it. OnePlus under-estimated the demand for the second year in a row, and took far too long to get their first production devices out to those with invites in-tow.

Well, we messed up the launch of the OnePlus One as well. “We simply messed up again and apologise for that”.

OnePlus is learning its lesson and doesn’t plan on making promises for future launches.
